Wendy Wesley, a member of BPW/St. Petersburg-Pinellas, is a registered and licensed dietitian and nutritionist. She is the owner of Wendy Wesley Nutrition, LLC, which provides nutrition counseling, corporate wellness and cooking lessons throughout Tampa Bay and Florida.
Her education includes a Masters Certificate in Nutrition, Iowa State University, a BS Nutrition, University of Northern Colorado and a BA in Journalism, University Central Florida.
Formerly, she worked as a clinical dietitian at an acute care hospital where she learned prescriptive diets and meal planning. Today, in her private practice, she specializes in behavioral change to achieve her clients’ unique goals for weight loss and management of chronic disease.
Her programs include weight loss, plant-based nutrition, menopause health, meal planning, PCOS, cardiac disease, pre-diabetes, diabetes, kidney failure and FODMAP and digestive health diets. She also writes and signs menus for Florida shelters, schools and nursing homes.
Wendy is a local and statewide food policy journalist advocating for more nutrient-dense foods in USDA areas of low income and low access or “food deserts.”
Her articles, interviews, cooking demonstrations and health tips have been featured in the Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Tampa Bay Times, Reader’s Digest, WFLA, WTTA, ABC Action News, 10 Tampa Bay, WUSF, WMNF, The St. Pete Catalyst, The Weekly Challenger, The Penny Hoarder, WUSF Zest podcast, The Crow’s Nest, La Gaceta and the Florida Food Policy Council.
This year she was voted “Best Nutritionist” by the readers of Creative Loafing in their Best of the Bay Awards.
