20 Jun Member Spotlight: Patricia Milian
Patricia Milian is Vice President of Product Development and Brand Strategy at ComplyRight, a national provider of HR compliance solutions for small businesses. Over her 19-year tenure, she has held numerous roles and managed diverse teams, including marketing strategists, product managers, writers, designers, data analysts, web developers, customer service specialists and project managers. Patricia also spent 15 years on the executive team with P&L responsibility and oversight of a multi-million dollar advertising budget.
Patricia is a first-generation American, the daughter of Cuban immigrants who escaped the Castro regime in 1959. She was born and raised in northern New Jersey until the age of 16, when she relocated to South Florida with her family. In 1985, Patricia graduated from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing. Over the past 37 years, her marketing career has spanned everything from an e-commerce startup in the diet industry to a medium-sized marketing agency to a large, publicly held timeshare company.
In 2015, Patricia moved from Broward County to Key Largo after maintaining a second home there for many years. She lives with her husband, “Captain Dave” Vincent, and their spunky terrier-mix, Delilah – a.k.a., “The Terrierist.” (Captain Dave can be seen as part of the SeaTow crew on the Weather Channel series, “Deep Water Salvage,” now in its second season.)
In 2019, Patricia started to pull back from her corporate position to pursue other interests. She reduced her role and cut her schedule to four days, and now focuses on coaching and mentoring future leaders as part of a corporate succession plan. As a self-proclaimed productivity freak, she also coaches high-potential employees on ‘strategic time management’ using a proprietary process she has refined over the past 15 years. As she continues to pull back from her corporate role, she plans to transition to productivity coaching as part of her pre-retirement plan.
Patricia joined BPW/Upper Keys in 2020 and soon thereafter was asked to join the Board of Directors where she focused her first year on delivering a series of professional development workshops. This past May, she was elected VP of Membership for her LO and also accepted the position of Marketing Committee Chair for BPW/FL. She’s excited to help facilitate strategic discussions about how to re-energize the BPW brand and attract new members across the state.
When she’s not being productive, Patricia can be found ‘dockhopping’ on the Key Largo waters with her husband, dreaming up new home improvement ideas, and reading voraciously to feed her endless curiosity and thirst for learning. She also enjoys traveling and attending live music events and festivals, a passion she shares with Captain Dave.
