Member Spotlight: Judith “Buffy” Alkire

Hello Fellow BPW Members,

I am Judith “Buffy” Alkire.  I have been a member of BPW/Halifax for almost three years.  I was born in Pennsylvania but moved to Daytona Beach when I was nine.  I lived there with my parents, sister (Colleen) and brother (Eddie).  My sister and I then took to the road moving to Columbus, Ohio, to work at Ohio State University Hospital, Children’s Hospital and Mount Carmel Hospital.  I lived there for 10 years, met my husband and we moved back to Central Florida in 1982.  We have four sons, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

I am a Registered Nurse with a background in Neonatal Intensive Care, ICU and Obstetrics.  Before retirement, I had a wonderful career in Pharmaceutical Sales.  In 2013, a friend of my posted about her being an Independent Consultant with Rodan & Fields, so my husband and I both tried the products and have never looked back.  I joined the doctors in 2013.  I absolutely love owning my business.  Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields were the developers of Proactive many years ago, which they sold off to devote their time to their practices and Rodan & Fields.  They are Board Certified Dermatologists still seeing patients.  Their mission is to “Change Skin Change Lives.”  Our products were in high-end department stores until about 15 years ago when the doctors decided to bring their products to your front door through direct selling.  We are the #1 Premium Skincare Brand in North America.  The doctors own several patents on their skincare products.  Currently, we are only in the US, Canada, Australia and Japan.  My website is  Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about the business/products.  All of our products come with a 60 day empty bottle money back guarantee.

Then about two years ago, I joined WGU (Western Governors University) as a Nursing Lab Instructor, currently adding Clinical Instructor to my role.  I teach at our Daytona Beach and Orlando sites.

My husband, Steve, and I live in Port Orange.  We enjoy traveling and most importantly our grandchildren.
