In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, it is clear that many BPW/FL members are struggling with unanticipated expenses, damages or losses. At the same time, a number of BPW members have expressed their concern and a desire to help their fellow members with financial assistance.
BPW/FL announces that it has established a special fund to support members affected by Hurricane Irma. The BPW/FL Emergency Fund has been created to accept gifts made by BPW Members and Friends of BPW, and to support BPW members in their time of need. Any gifts to this fund will go directly to help our members affected by the storm.
A subcommittee appointed by the BPW/FL President will review requests on a case-by-case basis. Notification of the awards and distributions will be made directly to the member.
While not every single request will be able to be funded due to limited resources, we do hope that this fund creates the assistance that is needed by members of our BPW community now. Donations and requests for assistance will be accepted through April 30, 2018.
