2018 BPW/FL Annual State Conference: EQUITY RISING
That’s a wrap for the 98th Annual BPW/FL State Conference: EQUITY RISING! We were true to our mission throughout. Friday featured five education panels focused on equity, Glass Ceiling Award winner Brigadier General Carrie Nero, and a Cocktails for a Cause event benefiting the BPW/Florida Education Foundation. Saturday morning and afternoon combined Federation and Foundation business meetings that were chock full of parliamentary procedure and informed decision making, while the annual BPW/FL awards recognized local organizations for their yearlong efforts. Finally, the 2018-19 elected officers were introduced at the tropically festive installation banquet on Saturday. Executive committee and board of directors meetings bookended the conference on Thursday and Sunday. What an engaged group of women!
We were also pleased to host four women from the Florida Atlantic University Scholarship House and introduce 13 conference first-timers to the annual state conference experience.
Kudos to 2018 Conference Chair Jerri Evans and her planning committee, State Business Manager Cory Adler Leidersdorff, outgoing and incoming Executive Committee members and Board of Directors for making this conference relevant to our mission. It was a springboard for opportunity to make BPW even more vibrant and valuable to our members statewide.
Enjoy these moments from the 2018 State Conference!
