That’s a wrap for the 101st Annual BPW/FL State Conference: Pearls of Wisdom! We were true to our mission throughout, whether in person or via Zoom. Friday featured five workshops relevant to our mission (know your voting rights; building your business by building your relationships; public speaking secrets revealed; women, wealth and equality; and advocating for equity). Saturday morning saw a workshop on branding which started the process of BPW/FL reimaging who we are and Saturday afternoon combined Federation and Foundation business meetings that were chock full of meaningful dialogue and informed decision making, while the annual BPW/FL awards recognized local organizations for their yearlong efforts. The BPW/Florida Education Foundation raised funds through its annual Hawg Callin. Finally, the 2022-23 elected Federation officers were installed at the banquet. Executive committee and board of directors meetings bookended the conference on Thursday and Sunday. What an engaged group of women!
We were also pleased to introduce five conference first-time attendees to the annual state conference experience.
Kudos to 2022 Conference Chair Jerri Evans and her planning committee, State Business Manager Cindi Irwin, outgoing and incoming Executive Committee members and Board of Directors for making this conference relevant to our mission. It was a springboard for opportunity to make BPW even more vibrant and valuable to our members statewide.
