That’s a wrap for the 99th Annual BPW/FL State Conference: 100 YEARS STRONG! We were true to our mission throughout. Thursday night offered a sunset cruise. Friday featured two speakers and one panel focused on living your dream, being the only woman in the room and the secrets of true success and presentation of the Glass Ceiling Award to Catherine Stempien. Saturday morning and afternoon combined Federation and Foundation business meetings that were chock full of parliamentary procedure and informed decision making, while the annual BPW/FL awards recognized local organizations for their yearlong efforts. Several fundraising activities raised money for BPW/Florida Education Foundation. Finally, the 2019-20 elected Federation officers were introduced at the festive installation banquet on Saturday. Executive committee and board of directors meetings bookended the conference on Thursday and Sunday. What an engaged group of women!
We were also pleased to host three women from the Florida Atlantic University Scholarship House and introduce 20 conference first-timers to the annual state conference experience.
Kudos to 2019 Conference Chair Jerri Evans and her planning committee, State Business Manager Tiki Bates, outgoing and incoming Executive Committee members and Board of Directors for making this conference relevant to our mission. It was a springboard for opportunity to make BPW even more vibrant and valuable to our members statewide.
Enjoy these moments from the 2019 State Conference!
