2017 Speak Off Winner: Jerri Evans

The Individual Development Program, begun in the late 1960’s, was developed to provide officers and future leaders with public speaking and presentation skills. The program was an intensive course of study and practice sessions. It has evolved today into a flexible program that can be molded to the needs of the participants.

The first part of the ID program contains 18 modules with topics including but not limited to public speaking, communication skills, interviewing, and networking training. The second part of the program involves a speak-off competition held at the BPW/FL State Conference.

The 2017 Individual Development Speak-Off Winner is Jerri Evans

Jerri Evans is a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg and has been involved in the legal community locally for more than 30 years. She is currently the legal assistant to Lisa A. Hoppe, Esquire, at Lisa A. Hoppe, P.A. In addition to being the immediate Past President of BPW/St. Petersburg-Pinellas, she serves ais their current Legislative Chair. Jerri is BPW/FL Public Policy Committee Chair and BPW/FL Political Action Committee (PAC) Treasurer. She also served as the BPW/FL Annual State Conference Chair in 2016.

Jerri is active in her community, serving as Vice-Chair on the Personal Enrichment Through Mental Health Services (PEMHS) board, where she has held various advisory positions. She has served in leadership roles in a number of organizations, including as a two-year president of the Suncoast Tiger Bay Club, president of her neighborhood association and the Judicial Assistance Association of Florida. She is a graduate of the Tampa Bay Public Leadership Institute and the Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) Leadership programs.
