Women Joining Forces – Closing Ranks, Opening Doors is a new BPW/USA initiative designed to support women veterans. For the first time in BPW/USA's 86 year history, we are pleased to extend the benefits of BPW/USA membership to women exiting the military as our expression of support to this extraordinary group of workingwomen. As a leading advocacy organization forworkingwomen, BPW/USA is proud to open our powerful network to women exiting the military to help facilitate their successful career transitions into the civilian workforce.

BPW/USA has been helping workingwomen achieve economic self-sufficiency by advancing their careers, building businesses, and advocating for workplace equity since 1919. Founded through a grant from the United States War Council, BPW/USA is proud to launch this initiative as an outgrowth of its legacy of mobilizing workingwomen during times of conflict. With more than 1,300 local networks across the country and over 20,000 members, BPW is the nation's leading organization supporting career women in developing their skills for enhanced job performance and advancement, balancing work and life demands, and building business, advocacy, and social connections.
BPW has learned that women who are preparing to leave the military have many of the same needs as workingwomen in civilian workplaces including issues related to work-life balance, quality healthcare, and mentoring opportunities. With the assistance generous corporations and foundations, an introductory, one-year dues waiver will be provided to approximately 1,500 women exiting military service. Additionally, significantly discounted introductory, first-year dues rates will be offered to any veteran (not holding a BPW membership in the last 12 months) interested in BPW membership.
