The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV) The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence was founded on principles of cooperation and unity among shelters. FCADV serves as the professional association for the state’s 42 certified domestic violence centers and is the primary representative of battered women and their children in the public policy arena. Members share the goal of ending domestic violence through community education, public policy development and services for victims.

FCADV administers the state’s toll free domestic violence hotline linking callers to the nearest domestic violence center. More than 1,000 calls per month are handled by this system. FCADV provides technical assistance to members, serves as a domestic violence clearinghouse, and provides assistance to training to center staff and other professionals. As public attention to the problem of domestic violence increases, hearing the voices of victims becomes even more important. The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence is uniquely suited to bring such voices to the forefront of the public discourse.
